WELCOME.

Roxanne Munro’s oil paintings celebrate the beauty and diversity of life in Africa. From the delicate harmony of her "Feathers and Fynbos" Collection to the resilience captured in her "Barbed-Wire" Collection, and the strength and individuality of women portrayed in her "Faces of Africa" Collection, her work reflects the fragility, power, and wonder of both the natural world and human spirit.

Meet Roxanne.

Roxanne Munro was born in Cape Town, South Africa in 1989 and raised in the Eastern Cape. From an early age, she was guided by her father, artist Paul Munro, and inspired by the techniques of the Old Masters. Her passion for narrative art and her study of light, shadow, and atmosphere. Deeply influenced by the late Renaissance Period, continue to inform her practice. Working primarily in oil, Roxanne is celebrated for her figurative and portrait works, capturing both likeness and emotion. Her diverse body of work includes Faces of Africa, a series of portraits celebrating the strength, beauty, and individuality of African women, as well as her nature-focused collections: the Feathers and Fynbos Collection, highlighting South Africa’s endemic birds within their unique fynbos habitats, and the Barbed-Wire Collection, exploring resilience and survival amidst man-made barriers. Across these collections, her work honors both human and natural life, capturing beauty, fragility, and spirit. At just 19, Roxanne held her first solo exhibition (2009) after beginning to participate in group exhibitions across South Africa at the age of 16. Now based in East London with her husband and two sons, she continues to create and exhibit, blending traditional fine art techniques with her passion for South Africa’s cultural and natural heritage. For Roxanne, painting is not only a discipline but a philosophy: she believes time is precious, and each day offers an opportunity to grow, refine, and create.
